Having problems with your 1998 Ford F150 Regular Cab ?

I am the original owner of a 1998 f150 4x4 with

\015 I am the original owner of a 1998 f150 4x4 with the 5.4 modular engine it has 60,000 and has not been started since 2006. i tried to start it yesterday and the fuel pump does not run you can hear the fuel pump relay click on and off. what could i check for on this problem thanks bob\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 26-10-2020

Crank engine long enough to build sufficient oil pressure to close contact in fuel pump regulator, your engine has set idle for 3 years all oil has drained back to pan , oil pump has more than likely lost it's prime and will take probably 30 seconds of cranking for oil pressure switch to register enough pressure to close ground circuit to fuel pump relay, once grounded it should complete relay circuit to fuel pump allowing fuel pump to have constant power supply...This is what I would suspect first on vehicle that has set in non use for 3 years...
Try pulling the relay's in the engine compartment and sand the connetors for the fuel pump after see if it comes on, turn the key to the run postion and listen for 2 second hum. aslo put in Lucas fuel stablizer if it's been sitting for any leangh of time.
