How to Change Wheel Bearing in 98 Taurus

\015 How do you change the driver side wheel bearing in 98 Ford taurus\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 18-10-2021

Answers :

You can buy the bearing as a hole assembale for about $80.00 to $120.00 can that is the best and easy to do .Remove wheel, brake caliper and bracket, then tie up caliper to strut to keep it out off your way, then remove the wheel nut to drive shart, then remove the 3 bolt from the back,2 are easy 1 is on top of drive shart, thats the easy part now you have to get a chisle to seperate the two apart ,then put it a back together...............time about 45 min to do it all.............good luck
You will need to remove the wheel, brake caliper and rotor, steering knuckle. A heavy equipment press and fixture is needed to press the old bearing out and new one in. If you can get the knuckle off and take it to a shop. It'll be alot cheaper than having them do the whole job.
