Having problems with your 1998 Honda Accord ?

1998 honda accord 4dr 4cyl. 200,000mi. when it shifts from one gear to the next it acts like it is waiting for something else to happen before it makes the shift. when you come to a stop if you stop for the full 3 sec. the car will slam back into 1st, but if you dont wait until it goes back to first it will remain in that gear and when you accelerate the tranny will shift out of gear and the rpms will go up about 1000 more than necessary and then shift into the next gear. You definatley need to replace the tranny sensor... and might end up replacing the whole transmission.. i would take it to a transmission shop very soon... sounds very unsafe to be road worthy and could cause an accident..
Have you changed transmission oil in awhile or the trans. filter?
