Car radio compact disc digital audio. my radio will not turn on it is asking for a code

This happened to me. It usually happens when the mechanic takes out your battery. It resets the radio, I think it might have something to do with the anti-theft system.

I wouldn't take the car to the dealer to get the radio code, but to a local auto repair shop. When I took my car to the dealer to have them remove the radio to get the "four digit code" they wanted to charge me $100. So, I went to a local shop, and they removed the radio, punched in the code, FREE of charge.
You have to get the serial number (not car VIN) off of the radio and contact the dealership. With the serial number of the radio they will be able to give you a code to unlock it.
