Having problems with your 1998 Honda Civic ?

Heater at step 1,2 does'nt work, 3,4 working

\015 I have honda civic 1998 LXi, when i select the heater at step 1 or 2 it does'nt start, at 3 or 4 its working normal, when i pushed the A/C button on step 1 or 2 the light goes on but no fan blower, any advise.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 16-09-2019

Hello saleh.
In your Honda there is a resistor that controls the blower speeds.
The resistor is partially burned out causing the loss of speeds.
Sometimes this can happen due to corrosion but it is also possible a warning that the blower motor is drawing too much power and burning the circuit.
The blower fan flow helps to cool the resistor as it does get hot from the resistance.
The resistor is mounted in the airbox on the right side below the dash. You may need to remove the glovebox to access it.
