Having problems with your 1998 Jeep Cherokee ?

I have a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport and it's got me really confussed. It died while in the mountains on a really rough bummpy road and every since then it's gone down hill. Now it wont back up and when I put it in reverse and let off the gas it dies and while I'm driving down the street it acts like it's going to die over every little bump and sometimes does die competely. Check all ground straps and battery connections also connections to computer as well as under vehicle around transmission/transfer case while off roading may have damaged a connector under vehicle or loosened/broke a ground wire/strap
