1998 Jeep Cherokee Oil Pressure Question

\015 I recently replaced my oil sending unit (oil pressure switch) in a 1998 Jeep Cherokee. Before I replaced it, the pressure would drop to about 15 during idle speeds and increase to about 40 during highway speeds, which I was told was normal. Now, after I replaced it, it sticks to about 40...is this okay? Am I supposed to do something else other than bolting and plugging it it?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 17-02-2020

Answers :

Installation is pretty much tighten and plug in as described. if gauge goes to 0 with engine off u should be fine. 15psi idle 40 psi higher rpm is normal. it is possible new switch not as as sensitive as old.
