Having problems with your 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee ?

1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Left Tail/Stop Light Inop.

\015 I have a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the left tail/stop light inoperative. I have removed the taillight assembly and all the bulbs check good(even the tail/stop bulb). All of the other lights work fine (including the right tail/stop light) so I'm not sure it's a fuse problem. My vehicle does not have the Vehicle Information Center (VIC) and I'm not sure if it has a lamp outage module that could be faulty. Is this a wiring or grounding problem?I'm all out of ideas, please help.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 30-11-2020

You need to check for power and ground. If you dont have a volt meter you can get a good cheap one from radio shack. If there is no power recheck with a known good ground. All the lights on that side share a common ground. Check the sockets for signs of burning or corrosion. There is a plug in the left rear quater panell. If you have no power check the corrisponding wire at that connector. The wires splice togeter just before the connector. So if the other brake/tail light is working you know the problem is after that. Hope this helps. Im sure you'll find the problem.
