Battery light is on and stays on - 1998 Plymouth Breeze

Answers :

Most of the time, the battery light being on is telling you that the battery is not fully charging. Could be your alternator is failing...(a free check at most auto parts stores) Could be the alternator (serpentine belt) is slipping...(worn out or stretched) or simply it could be an indication of the battery not "holding the charge" provided by the alternator. Could be a bad cell in the battery (a free check at most auto parts stores) Or it could just be dirty (corroded) battery terminals...In any event you do not need to be stranded. Any of these small problems can expose you to being stranded...Please have your charging system checked. Hope this helps.
