Having problems with your 1998 Pontiac Grand Am ?

1998 grand am gt 3.1 litre... When I am driving the RPMs are high (3000) but I have to really push on the gas pedal to get the speed up to 25mph

\015 When I accelerate the engine revs high but the speed does not increase. I have to push hard on the gas pedal to get the car up to 30mph, then the idle drops until it goes below 30 again and I have to accelerate.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 26-10-2020

Answers :

Transmission needs rebuilt or the torque converter is bad if it is a automatic transmission. If it is stick shift trans your clutch is shot or you have a leak of somekind and the clutch disk is soaked witj oil.
It sounds like you have a bad sensor you need to get the sensors looked at sum times it could be ur Cruz control
