Having problems with your 1998 Volvo V70 ?

I have a Volvo 850 AWD and my tracs light and ABS light comes on after i drive for a while. sometimes the light comes on as soon as i start the engine and sometimes it comes on after driving for 10 min or ometimes it doesn't come on at all. although it seems to be coming on more aften. does anyone now why this would happen? could it have something to do with my tires? as one of them as a bit bigger then the other 3?

Its quite possible if one of the tires is larger/smaller then your vehicle is not getting equal traction on all 4 wheels then you traction light would come on to let you know the wheel(s) are slipping but should go off once the tire spin stops and should not be on constantly. As far as the abs light well that's something different (antilock brake system) that pumps the brakes up to 100 times a second when wheel slippage is detected while stopping to avoid the wheels locking up. My question is do both these lights come on at the same time or do the come on separately? If the same time I would be leaning towards a wheel sensor which controls the traction control/ABS systems (you need to have them diagnosed to see which one as there is 1 on each wheel). IF separately you will have to have both systems checked for working condition and what the problem. But chances are its a wheel sensor as it controls both and since your getting both lights I would start there. Any muffler/brake shop can repair. SHop around to get the best price.
You are showing wheel slippage at some point did you change your driving habbits ,or your routes suchs a do you drive in a sandy area ,or from the north were you have water and ice,or do you have a child that drives it in the evening and you get it in the morning and you have this problem,If so that might give you a hint on there driveing
