Having problems with your 1999 Chevrolet Malibu ?

Every week or two I have to add coolant. My low light comes on but cant find a leak. There are no spots on my driveway, but dont where the anti-freeze is going. Mike Salantai

\015\012Could be a couple of problems. Check all around the head gaskets for any sign of leakage. This will only leak while it's running. Also check the hoses and thermostat housing gasket for signs of leakage. While the motor is running inspect the the clamps where the hoses connect and the entire hose itself. Lastly, check the tanks on the side of the radiator, also while it's running. The coolant system is under high pressure while running and often you'll see no leaks when the motor is off because there's no pressure.
\015\012Also check to see if the oil looks kind of milky. If it does you know you're getting coolant in there. If that's the case it's either the gasket or a cracked head. Good luck.
The intake manifold gaskets on these are known to leak. the coolant leaks inside and runs into a cylinder and is burned up in the combustion process so you'd never see an external leak. i assume its a 3.1 or 3.4 v6 both have the same problem
