Having problems with your 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ?

Truck dies when i stop or slow down

\015 Hello, I have a 2003 Dodge Durango. Fixed air leak, replaced camshaft sensor, and replaced the map sensor, but my truck still dies when i come to a stop at lights, stop signs and whenever i slow down to make turns. At first it would not crank or start at all. It cranks right back up & runs perfect while im driving. I put it on the computer & it passed. My check enginle light is not on. Can it be bad gas or something? Can anyone help because im dumbfounded? Thank you.\015\012\015\012i have the same problem in a 1998 chevy 1500 the engine was just rebuilt so its clean could it be bad time or could the torque converter be bad and not letting it downshift right causing the engine to stall if i stop fast it stalls if i slow down to a stop slowly it is fine i am confused any advice\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 15-04-2019

Answers :

This may be the cause, try it and see if it helps, it is a very common cause of problems like yours.
\015\012Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls and low idle rough idle, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve (IAC for short), they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.
