Having problems with your 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 ?

I have a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. I was driving it and suddenly it died. It seemed as if it ran out of fuel but it was just filled a day before. The truck was running fine before this happened so I am not sure whats wrong. Maybe the fuel pump went? What could have went wrong?

Answers :

Does the engine turn over normal, dragging, or a fast spin? You could have a bad crank shaft position sensor. If this goes out, the sensor can't reference where the crank is which will cause the engine to shut down. The fuel pump could have went out. Check the fuel rails for a valve that looks like the one on the wheels. It may be covered with a cap. De-press the valve needle and see if you have fuel in the rails, If not the pump isn't working.
