\015 My 1999 chevy suburban oil is dripping from a black plastic panel underneath in the front of the engine. The panel is held up by two large bolts, I have located the drip but have no idea what the part or component is called.\015\012Tony\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 26-10-2020

Hi,
\015\012 Thanks for additional info... wish I could actually "See" it with you.
\015\012If you're sure it's coming from the power steering system, check the level of your power steering pump. A small leak from this system is not a catastrophic thing if you don't have time to fix it right now, but do keep the level of fluid up. If it get's too low, it'll whine when you turn the wheel and might be a bear to steer.
\015\012 when you have time, get an old towel or something and wipe the leak area clean. Try to determine where the leak is coming fom. It could be a hose or a fitting connection. Hopefully nothing major... You're on your way to solving this case! Good luck!
If i am not mistaken on those vehicles the oil filter is remotley located under that plastic shield. The most likley cause is residual oil left behind when the last person did an oil change. If I am wrong please give me more info.
\015\012Cheers
