Having problems with your 1999 Dodge Durango ?

Transmission temp gauge and O/D light come on 2000 Durango.

\015 Is it a transmission problem or a sensor problem?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 08-03-2021

Answers :

Sounds like an overheated transmisson. The overdrive and temp lights are on because the overdrive is disabled due to a problem. There is a thermistor in the valve body that illuminates that light when the trans fluid temp gets too high. Check the fluid level and condition, If it's dark red and not pink in color it's burnt, which generally means that the clutches are smoked too. Probably time for a remanufactured transmisson.
Ok no dont do that its note ganna do you any good ya it makes it go away but it will come back twice as bad. i have a 99 durango and same thing happend so we opened up the tranny pan andall it is i a spring that stretched or is just wore out its about $65 and it took us only 1 hour to fix it. hope that helps
