1999 Dodge Ram 1500 5.2L 2WD Sputtering Problem

\015 I have had my check engine light on for about 3 months. It first started when I came to a stop on the off ramp of the freeway. My RPM and speedometer went down to zero and the car stalled. It started right back up and then my speedometer wouldn't register after that unless I went over 45 mph. My ABS and brake light are also on. It has stalled a few times after that but mostly now the troubling thing is that it shakes and sputters pretty bad when I am driving around 45-55 mph. It is getting worse. I took it to my mechanic the other day and he checked it, thought it was the speed sensor on the diff, replaced that, no difference. He told me to buy the speed sensor in the trans, bought it yesterday, installed it, no difference. I don't know if this is a major trans problem or if I should replace the spark plugs and wires. This is my only vehicle and I have to drive it everyday, I need to get it fixed asap, I just hope that I am not causing more damage by driving it everyday, but have no choice. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks. \015\012\015\012-Josh\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 14-09-2020

Answers :

Take it some where else and get it scanned for codes.. it sounds like a ground issue to me. Throwing parts at it will only get expensive and you may never end up changing the right part before you get sick of it.
