Having problems with your 1999 Ford Explorer ?

I got a churpping noise, but comming from rear upper part of engine.has been loud at times

The noise probably sounds like a belt chirping but at the rear of the engine that is normally the camshaft sensor shaft i call it a dummy distributor. the shaft needs to be replace and while your there replace the cam sensor when it is changed if you do it yourself make sure you mark and take careful notice on how it's sitting in place it is very inportant it goes back exactly how it comes out or the vehicle will not run properly
