Having problems with your 1999 GMC Suburban ?

1999 GMC Suburban 2500. 454 engine

\015 On a trip the other day I was driving along 75 mph, all seemed to be running great then like I ran out of gas lost all ability to accelarate. Still had 1/2 tank of gas. The after about 20 minutes the car started again made it about 13 miles and it did it again. No warning. After being stranded I now have the car back home, Other then a very slight change in idle the car will start up like there is nothing wrong, the second I push on the gas peddle the idle drops and will die, even pumping doesnt really help. Again its like not fuel but has a full tank. Any ideas?? Oh, the fuel pump and filter was replaced about 5 months ago.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 19-11-2018

Answers :

Sounds like fuel pump pressure. I had the same thing happen to me in a Lincoln mark VII and the electrical connection was shorting out in the fuel pump. I changed the fuel pump..Returned under warranty) put the new one on with filter and had no problem with it.
