Having problems with your 1999 Honda Accord ?

1999 accord; no brake lights and wont shift to reverse.

\015 If i pump the brakes enough it will shift out of park and break lights will work. The problem is tied together som how. Is this a shifter problem or trany?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 14-01-2019

Check the switch and relays. They are connected to the brake lever. When the brake is depressed the switch will turn on the brake light. Another relay will release the transmission lever to allow it to be moved from PARK to other gears(safety feature). You probably should hear a clicking when you press the brakes.
