\015 I am trying to put on new braks and can not seem to remove the drum\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 25-10-2021

Answers :

This isn't uncommon; some parking brake setups may cause the shoes to drag on the drum while trying to remove it.\015\012If your parking brake has been ineffective in recent times, the cable may be rusted in place.\015\012Try putting the hand brake on HARD (**** on it), then releasing it several times to break the friction that may be present.\015\012If this doesn't work, try doing the same thing at each wheel.\015\012
\015\012If this still doesn't free the drum, use a hard plastic or brass hammer to tap firmly on the outside of the drum, rotating it as you go.
