Answers :

The crankshaft is the main shaft that all the pistons are connected to by connecting rods. It is an internal part with both ends sticking out. In the front, the crankshaft pulley is bolted to it and it rotates when the engine is running, making the belt run around the pulleys for your power steering, and alternator to charge the battery. At the back is where the flywheel is attached. Your starter engages this to start the whole thing in motion. Your transmission is attached to the flywheel by a "torque convertor". the convertor converts the spinning motion of the engine(crankshaft) into usable power through the gears to make your wheels spin and down the road you go!
