Having problems with your 1999 Lincoln Navigator ?

Is there any way to repair a cross-threaded spark plug cylinder #8 in a 1999 Navigator without taking the body off? If so,how?

Answers :

If you have sufficient room you can. Get a thread tap from a parts store (NAPA etc) with the exact thread of your plugs. Put a little motor oil on the tap and slowly thread it in. Thread it in a full turn, the back out 1/2 turn. Then in a full turn and back out 1/2 turn and so on. This may repair your thread without having to drill it our, put in a sleeve and re-tap it. Lastly, when you put in new plugs, always use 'No Seize on the threads and only tighten to snug. They aren't holding the car together.
Good luck.
