Having problems with your 1999 Mitsubishi Diamante ?

1999 Mitsubishi Diamante, will not start. Got a brand new battery like three weeks ago. Last thursday it wouldn't start all of the sudden. I took a wire brush to the connections to the battery and sprayed them with corrossion remover aswell. Hi firstly when you try to start the car do the lights dim then, when you release the key they go bright again,
\015\012If they do your starter is either stuck or the solenoid on the top of it has packed up.
\015\012Firstly look around the bottom area of the engine where it joins to the gearbox.
\015\012The starter should look like a long tubed shaped unit with at least a few heavy wires coming from it (the same as attached to the battery.
\015\012Once you have found it tap it with something non metal so as not to short it out but free it.
\015\012Try the starter again to see has that made it work.
\015\012Either way if it goes or does not go you will need to get the starter repairer by a car starter repair chap or get a good second hand one from a breakers yard off the same model as yours.
\015\012Make sure before the starter is removed that the battery is disconnected so as to avoid the battery being shorted when the wires are removed from the starter.
