Having problems with your 1999 Oldsmobile Intrigue ?

The ignition switch does not turn over

\015 This has been a problem for over a year, but it has worsen. I have to move the key back and forth and jiggle it in order to get the car started. What do I need to replace to solve this problem? Ignition lock cyclinder? Steering column?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 20-06-2022

Answers :

If it is a chevy then the ignition switch is down by the bottom of the steering column. There will be a rod coming from the top of the column to the ignition switch. Some times all it needs is to be adjusted. It is held on by 2 bolts. With the key in the off setting, loosen the 2 bolts and move the switch back a little and then tighten them up. keep doing this in tell it works every time. If it still does not work then you should replace the switch.
