Having problems with your 1999 Pontiac Sunfire ?

My car died yesterday while driving first my battery light came on then my oil light, the battery is fairly new and I just put a new starter on today and it tries to turn over but still won't star

I'm not sure what these other peoples qualifications are but their answers are pretty ridiculous. if the car cranks over but wont start its got nothing to do with the battery or alternator. the alternator is not important until the car starts so even if it is bad that wont keep the car from starting. your battery light and oil light came on because the car died. this is normal when you turn your key on before starting the car these lights will always come on, just as they will do with the key on if the car dies.
\012I would take off the upper timing belt cover and see if the belt feels tight or loose. then try cranking the car over and see if the camshaft gears move.

\012timing belts break while driving down the road all the time and that is what I would suspect first because its an easy check, four 10 mm bolts and the upper timing cover comes off and you will know right away if the belt broke or not.
Won't turn over or won't start?

Has to turn over fairly fast

Check for fuel pressure & either spark or
injector pulse while cranking
