Having problems with your 1999 Volkswagen Beetle ?

My Heat/air would not turn on last year i fixed it the problem was the metal piece inside had fallen off and was not touching the metal piece around the inside of the knob the same thing happened last week i can't remember how i got into the inside of the panel to fix it

Sorry about your AC and air. I had the same problem on mine that started a few months back on a really hot day. I had the AC on and suddenly all of the fans and air stopped.

I finally just got the grand idea to check the fuses, and lo and behold, the fan fuse was blown. I replaced it, and PRESTO! All of the AC, heat, and air worked just fine again. I cannot guarantee it will be a permanent fix, as I'm sure a fuse is not the reason for the system to overheat in the first place, but hey...it will get you your AC back, if but for a short while.
