Having problems with your 2000 Chevrolet Blazer ?

Gauge or sending unit in 2000 Blazer...

\015 If the circuit board failed, would it still dart back and forth or would it just stop? How would I replace it, is it behind the dash or somewhere else? Thanks.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 14-10-2019

This sounds like it could be your problem. There is a TSB #3777 that deals with the following problem: The fuel gauge and temp. gauge are inop and the low fuel and battery lights are on. The PRNDL indicator is inop on A/T vehicles. These systems can be intermittent. When using a scan tool the inputs are normal when viewed on the power train data list, but read zeros when viewed in the I/P data list. The gauges will sweep when using a scan tool. This can be caused by an open in cicuit 241 to the VCM connector C4 pin 13. This is the ingnition 3 feed to the VCM. It is one of the inputs used to determine the ignition lock/switch position. When this circuit is open the VCM sees the switch as always in the crank position, while in this mode the class 2 serial data is in a reduced function state, the Tech 2 will still communicate with the various modules and no DTCs will set. The following is a matrix indicating what inputs are used to determine the ignition switch position at the VCM.

\015\012Recommendations/Instructions:
\015\012Check for B+ at the VCM connector C4 pin 13, this circuit 241 should only have battery voltage when the ignition switch is in the run position.
\015\012Note: Both the 2WD and 4WD S/T vehicles with a 4.3 L engine use fuse #15 (4WD) in the IP fuse block and the related wiring (Circuit 241) to the VCM for this crank input.
\015\012Safety Note: Before working on wiring be sure to ground yourself or static discharge may fry the circuit bored.
Chances atre if it was the whole board you whould not have a speddometer or anything. there are seperate modules on the board it sits behind the dash. when removing it you want to be careful. if you have a static charge and it discharges on the board you will fry it. i use a bracelet that has a longe wire with an alligator clip and i attach it to a ground that way the charge will ground to the vehicle body and not the board. please rate this thanks
