A number of very different problems can give you this symptom. First, you may not be getting adequate fuel to the engine. This could be caused by a clogged fuel filter or by a non-functional fuel pump. If you have an electric fuel pump (which I believe this car has), you'd want to check that electricity is getting to the fuel pump before you go through the hassle of changing out the pump.\015\012
\015\012Second, and more esoteric, you could have a problem with your security system. I once had a rental Chrysler that exhibited exactly the same symptoms that you describe: car would start but almost immediately shut down again. I eventually figured out that I had been given a key for a different car 2 spaces down from the one I had. The physical keys matched (locks worked, ignition switch turned smoothly), but the authentication computer chip in the key didn't match up to what the car wanted.
