Having problems with your 2000 Chevrolet Lumina ?

2000 chevy lumina transmission is leaking of the top breather

\015 I was told that this breather acted as a valve alowing the trans to breath until it warmed up then the rising fluid level would shut the valve to keep the fluid from leaking out but no one has been able to give me a name of the part bore have I been able to locate it on a diagram. I was also told that it should thread out but after turning it for some time I realized that it was most likely press fit in and now I'm not sure how to remove it\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 25-05-2020

Answers :

Breather is pressed in and should always be open, sounds like the transmission is overfilled and coming out of the vent when the fluid expands...heats up
