Having problems with your 2000 Chevrolet Tracker ?

How do I tell what engine size I have in my 1999 Chevy Tracker? I know that they were made with 1.6 and 2.0 liter engines, but I don't know how to tell one from the other - and I don't have both types to compare to one another. Is it marked, somewhere, or is there an easily visible difference that I can look for? I'm wanting to install an air conditioner, and I'm looking at parts to do so. It appears to make a difference, what size engine I have - and I don't know how to tell. Any help woul

Answers :

Either on the underside of the hood, somewhere around the top of the engine compartment, there wil be a white rectangle sticker. the liter size is on that tag. Also in the top center of the engine it should read the word vortec. Just below that word it should read 1.6 or 2.0. That is the engine liter size. If all else fails call the dealership, give the service dept. your VIN# and they will tell you what it has.
