Having problems with your 2000 Ford Expedition ?

Engine will not start/adio does not work but int/ext lights ok

\015 Weather was cold. Vehicle had trouble starting one first try and died. When I cranked again, I gave the car gas and the vehicle started. Drove to my work location, where the car was parked for about five hours. When I left worked, the car would not start & the radio was not working. My exterior & interior lights and windows were all working properly, but the windows did seem slow. Tried to jump the vehicle, but it did not work. Replaced the battery and car did not start. After an hour and a half, wnt back into the car to place it in neutral to allow towing. Felt like the key did not turn back enough to engage, so I pushed key back further. Car started and radio is no working. The old battery was failry new. Just replaced in Aug 08. Thought may be alternator draining battery, but doesn't explain the radio issue, nor the issue of starting with a new battery. Help.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 29-06-2020

Answers :

This is most likely the battery protection relay, this is part of the lighting control module (LCM/GEM), your dealer can test test it but the issue may have been related to the cold, this module controls almost everything except the engine and trans.
