Having problems with your 2000 Ford Focus ?

09 ford focus trunk leak

\015 I am thinking about buying a 2009 ford focus from a dealership only problem when i went to go look at them they both had water in the trunks in the spare tire spot, they said it was from the detailing but then there was also alot of condinsation in the vehicle. Is this a big reg flag? Has anyone had any problems like this before?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 11-11-2019

I'd say its a missing rubber liner around the trunk opening. When you open the trunk, look for continuity in the seal around it. If there is a break make sure that it's not sealed by a rubber or soft plastic piece on the trunk lid. If there is a genuine problem, take a discrete photo and point the problem out to your salesperson. This is not a common problem and can be used to negotiate a discount, if you're interested in the car. It can be fixed quite simply by adding a rubber weatherstrip piece (Available at any home improvement store) in place of the break. .........The other thing that it could be is a missing small rubber plug in the spare tire well. if possible, remove the tire and carpet and look around for light coming in. Just a thought.
