Having problems with your 2000 GMC Savana ?

I have a brake light issue with a 2000 GMC Savana 2500 Cargo. Brake Lights work fine... as long as the headlight switch is in the OFF Position. With headlights ON, I have no Brake Lights. Trying to determine if this is a Brake [Stop] Light Switch issue or a Headlight Switch issue. Anyone have a wiring diagram that shows connection between these 2 switches? Anyone have any thoughts? Answers :

I can suggest two things; it might be a faulty headlights switch and also check the stop lamp bulbs, sometimes if one of them is blown out it won't make a good ground and since the same bulb work for the stop light and the courtesy lights when the lights are on it opens the stop light circuit. Check all bulbs carefully for a fall apart filament inside the bulb.
The only connection between the two circuits is the common ground at the taillights, check those sockets for proper ground
