Having problems with your 2000 Jeep Wrangler ?

Won't idle when cold

\015 When 1st starts jeep up it won't idle. But if you hold foot down on accelerator until it warms up then its ok. It's a 2000 Wrangler, 4.0 litre. I have a 93 festiva and had same problem and it was IAC. Do jeeps have an IAC also or something simular that can cause this.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 18-02-2019

I have had the same problem\015\012not only with jeep but with my Dodge Ram as well, it turned our to be the throttle position sensor, but if your check engine light was on,it probably stored a code, I would have that code checked out if you can. You can also first check for vacuum leaks replace any hose that is even slightly questionable. Remove the air\015\012intake tube and be sure the injection is clean around the throttle plate. I would recommend getting a service manual for sure. I got mine from www.promanuals.net the best and cheapest around for factory equivalent service manuals. They can answer a alot questions as well.
Test the electric choke be ,
\015\012 try unplugging the coolant temp probe to see if the choke begins to work. if so replace probe.
\015\012check all vacuum lines be sure non are clogged.
