2000 CLK2000 Won't Start Remedy
\015 Just had my 2000 CLK320 in service for the same problem. Would not start. Service replaced the mass flow sensor and the crank sensor. I suggest you do the mass flow sensor yourself. Don't know about the crank sensor. Bill was $828.00. How did you change the plugs. Service wanted another $400.00 do change the plugs.\015
Wow I'm a luxury owner of a jaguar s type sport package and premium dealership repair services are as close to legal extortion and rape as allowed I feel your discontent however,your maf sensor is a no brainer and the crank sensor takes about 1/3 hour on shop time easy to remove and reinstall just a pain to access. Your plugs take a little bit of practical understanding & mechanical aptitude. Here is your basic tutorial, first obviously remove the intake/engine cover by simply pulling it up, next, remove the washer fluid reservoir by removing the bolt on top, removing the hooks/clasps and removing the hose from the bottom and manuever it out of your way, remove the torx bolt (size t30) on each of the 4 coil packs then remove wires I would suggest labeling them or you could place them in order, I would also recommend a lisle spark plug boot removal tool so you don't pull your wire through the boot, also I'd recommend a quality replacement plug like the bosch f8dpp33 and I failed to mention to work on your vehicle while it is cold so you would not inadvertently damage your cylinders while removing/reinstalling plugs while hot which could cause warping but that should be common sense anyway. Get out your socket set and extension manage through some hard to reach areas remove your plugs check for appropriate gap on replacement plugs, add anti seize lubricant on plug threads, then reinstall and reverse earlier procedures. Class dismissed that will be $100 please just kidding if you need any further advise let me know.
