Being a GM 2000 model, Im sure its has many miles, correct me if im wrong. Take it to a GM facility and have the transmission flush and filter change, Older high miles car on domestic car is a common problems. If you have close or 100k miles, have those thing done ASAP. It will solve some of your problems and will give you tranny a bit longer life.dirty or clog tranny filter can cause the problems and shorten the life of the transmission. being a 2000 model, tranny filter should be change every 50k miles. Only newer model have 100k miles maintenance free transmission. hope that help some
Check all the electrical connections on the tranny. first thing and the cheapest change the filter and transmission fluid. filter is about $15 i suggest under no circumstances add a transmission fixer. they do work but my experience only for a short time.
