Having problems with your 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix ?

Need to bypass triad security system - car wont start

\015 2000 grand prix -- Triad system came loose. We removedand when we tried to replace it .It apparently shorted out.burning smell of wires. Now the key will turn on the cars door open signal (beep,beep,etc) but will not start the car.We replaced the fuse for the ignition column but still no starting. Would like to remove the triad system so we can use the car. Any suggestions. need the car for work.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 17-09-2018

There are several configurations of the same security system. But one sure fire way to correct this issue is to get a bypass kit. Any shop that installs remote startups has the ability to bypass this system. Since the sytem measures the resitance of the key/lock and asociated wiring any shorting of those wires will make it very difficult to defaet without some expertise.
