Having problems with your 2000 Subaru Outback ?

Engine pulses/revs occasionally at stop lights

\015 Occasionally my 2000 subaru outback, 220,000miles, will rev in pulse like patterns when I am stopped at a stop light, the RPM needle does not move when this happens. If I put the car in neutral it stops doing this and sounds smooth (car is automatic). I noticed when I was freeway driving it did a small jerk/skipped a beat a couple times over an hour period. I have taken it to my mechanic a few times. It always behaves when I go to him. No check engine codes. We changed the transmission fluid. My last fill up I used premium w techron. There is no pattern of when the rev happens, hot or cold day, just turned on or been running for a while. I need to figure this out so I dont feel like I am going to break down while driving.\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 17-06-2019
