Having problems with your 2000 Toyota Celica ?

My Celica GTS 6-speed just rolled 100,000. Now AFTER shifting into 3rd or 4th (not every time) the engine will rev higher and then drop back down to where it should be, all without it effecting the speed of the car. Any ideas?

Hi! I believe that the MAF (mass air flow) sensor of the car is about to die. This is an indication that its bout to break down. For now it just revs high occasionally but if its really bout to go bad you will experience an inaccurate idle. You may need to replace the MAF for it may go bad in any given time. Hope this helps and have a good one.
