I have seen this problem numerous times. The problem is the Mass Air Fow Meter. It sits on top of the air cleaner bos and tells the ecu how much air is going into the engine. If you have acess to a scanner that can read live data stream you will see that the mass air flow meter is sending readings in-corectly. It is easy to change. 2 screws and un plug the harness. be sure the ignition is off though as you will set a few more codes.
I had the same problem, is the check engine light on?mine was ,i replaced an air sensor, it think it was between the muffler and cateletic converter or monifold.
