Having problems with your 2001 Cadillac Seville ?
The traction light is on and the rear brake locked up for no apparent reason at slow speed and then it freed up after ten seconds. the traction control button dose not work and the abs light is also on. where do i start?
Well, The place to start would be to scan your ABS control module for fault codes. It sounds like you mkay be having a problem with one of the wheel speed sensors. If you have a wheel locking up, the traction control could be applying the brake on the wheel opposite the one that is having the sensor problem. Again, the best piece of diagnostic equipment available for this problem is the brake computer in your car.
Start by scanning your codes. You can do this without a scan tool, right on your dashboard. To the right of your instrument cluster, with the car on, press "on/off" and "info ^" at the same time. All your dash lights will come on for a few seconds then shut off, then you will be prompted by the message area under your gauges. use info up and down and scroll to all codes then press on off. Take note of any codes that come up as current and google them to find out what they are.
