Valve lifters have staeted tapping. What can I add

\015 Valve lifters have started tapping. What can I add to oil to help?\015 Posted / edited by AnonymousUser on : 25-03-2019

Before considering additives, check the oil pressure if it's low, that must be diagnosed. If pressure is good, change oil with a good grade lubricant and add a pint of marvel oil. Change every 3000miles and it should over time quiet it down. If lifters are worn, no chemical will repair them though.
I know you are looking for a "magic bullet" and my answer is likely diapointing, but that's just a fact.
You can try adding Marvel Mystery oil about 1000 KM before your next oil change and hope that would clean the dirt from the lifter's. If not, your cam's could be worn. Good luck and try not to run in the high RPM's with the thiner oil in your blazer.
