Having problems with your 2001 Chevrolet Malibu ?

Blew a headgasket,,, had all new gaskets put on car,,, when all back together, it won't hold antifreeze but car does not overheat,, runs to a point and then blows the antifreeze out,,, i'm thinking they put the wrong intake on it and didn't torque it down,, and antifreeze is evaporating in the combustion chamber,, what could be the problem

Answers :

Sounds like a good diagnosis. You can remove the spark plugs and see if there is coolant in the combustion chambers. A compression check would also narrow things down. The coolant reservoir would have a smell of gas or oil. I hope there is no water in the oil. Regards, Don
