Having problems with your 2001 Chevrolet Suburban ?
How to move the serpentine belt tension pulley on a 2001 chevrolet suburban in order to replace the alternator?
You don`t have to remove the pulley itself.Use a light and look at the tensioner. You will see a square hole on the front of the tensioner. All you need to do is put your 3/8 ratchet in this hole and relieve the tension. Then just remove the belt off the alternator and leave it lay on the other pulleys. You don`t need to remove it completely. This will make it easier when installing it.Hope this helps.Good luck.
After you remove the air intake tube ...Just put a 15mm wrench on the bolt head of the pulley and release the tension. ( Clockwise )
