Having problems with your 2001 Chevrolet Tahoe ?

2001 tahoe - dash display - including speedometer, tachometer, gear display (P-R-N-D-L1-L2) along with fuel gauge do not work once i start the vehicle. i've replaced a 10amp fuse by the driver's side door but to no avail. the displays appear to work prior to turning over or starting the vehicle - but once i start it - the display goes dead and is non-responsive. any ideas?

Many of the GM trucks have a problem with the instrument cluster, there is a active recall on many of the trucks but i am afraid that yours might be to old, we just replaced a cluster this week in a 2002 tahoe and it just missed the recall dates. but it never hurts to check with GM you might get lucky.
\015\012but you will need to replace the instrument cluster it repair you problem....sorry
\015\012let me know if their is any thing else i can do for you.
Check if the fuse goes out every time you start the engine. It may be a short that caused the fuse to go out in the first place. You will have to check if there are other fuses that blown. All those fuses that blew, trace the wires for bad insulation or wires that need replacing. You may have to check the connections for loose ones. Include the lines for the ignition as well.
