Having problems with your 2001 Chrysler Town & Country ?
Dead Radio - Cannot repair or replace!!
\015 This problem is confounding everyone. After boosting the van on account of a dead battery, the radio stopped working completely. This was a high end factory sound system. I tried to get it replaced, but the after-market audio dealer I went to spent a day trying to figure out what was wrong with it. He put the radio on the bench and it worked fine - tried a new one in its place and same symptoms. After failing to find the problem, he buttoned it back up the way it was.\015\012\015\012I since took the van to an excellent Chrysler dealer and they spent a whole day trying to find the problem with no luck. Apparently I cannot just replace the radio with a generic model because both the power input and all the speaker outputs feed through the same computer system. This computer is also spitting out indecipharable diagnostic codes which has the dealer technicians scratching their heads as well.\015\012\015\012I must say, this van's electrical system has been nothing but a nightmare since day one. The mechanical systems run great, and the van has great looks. As an electrical engineer myself, I must say I would be professionally ashamed to have had anything to do with the electrical design of this product.\015\012\015\012Has anyone else experienced a similar problem?\015
Yes it sounds as though you had a power spike and the computer took the brunt of it you may try ebay for a replacment audio computer please rate-jeff
