Having problems with your 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 Truck 2WD ?

\015 I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 4.7L I checked my transmission fluid level and according to the manual it\015\012says that when the engine is on the reading that it should be is higher\015\012on the stick, and the cold check is lower. However when I checked it\015\012hot, it was down all the way to the low check mark, and when it's cold\015\012it's way past the high check mark. Basically it's the opposite of what\015\012the manual says. Also when driving between 50 MPH to 65 MPH the acceleration is noticeably slower, and I have to really put my foot on the accelerator, after a second or two of holding down the accelerator the engine with go all the way to 5-6000 RPM and kick in and get up to the speed I need. The transmission is slipping.
\015\012Sounds like it needs more than just adding fluid. I'd take it in for service before the transmission is further damaged.
Remember, when you turn your engine off, all the fluid returns to the pan. Hence the high level when you do check it cold. That said, your level should be higher when hot.
Suggest you use hot reading while engine is running to get most accurate reading.

Sounds like fluid level is low by what you are saying. If low, then tranny will "wait" until it builds up enough fluid to change gears. Don't drive in low fluid conditions!
