Having problems with your 2001 Dodge Ram 3500 Truck ?

When i start my ram 2500 w a diesel, the gauge says it is charging fine. then i start driving, and the meter goes to 8 volts. i noticed the fuse that is in the power centre is blown. is this the caus eof my problem?

Answers :

Replace the fuse and check the wire from the alternator to the fuse for damage. Also check the batterys before you change the fuse and after with the truck running with a volt meter. After the fuse replacement the battery should read 14 to 15 volts. Also check the fluid level in the battery. If the cells are low you can put distilled water in them to bring them back up to proper level. Hope this will help you.
