Having problems with your 2001 Ford Expedition ?

My red brake light keeps coming on....what could that mean?

Answers :

The pedal could be low due to air in the system or a misadjusted brake switch, if it is adjustable.
Could mean you are low on fluid, that there is a pressure difference between the front and rear systems, that the pads are worn low, or that the ABS system is acting up.

Check the fluid level.
If the light only comes on when pressed, then bleed the brakes.
If the pedal is low and bleeding did not help, it is probably the master cylinder.
If the light is on all the time, check the pads.
If thin, replace them, and check the pad sensor, replace or solder if worn open.
Last resort is ABS, which needs a code reader.
